There are seven teams in Class A this year and all teams can play in the tournament which will start with quarter final games on May 25th this year. As of March 17th, the coaches poll predicts that Fairport and Pittsford will play in the championship game. The first complete poll will be posted on April 3rd.

# 3051  Hilton Wants to Continue Momentum

Hilton has a good mix of games they should win and those that be more challenging. 2019 was a great year for the Cadets with a 14-3 record that took them all the way to the Class A championship game where they lost to Fairport. They will play both Fairport and Pittsford in the regular season and could face one or both in the tournament. They will also play McQuaid Jesuit in the regular season and could see them at the end of the year as well.

The All Star list is out recognizing the Monroe County League players for the 2019 season. Senior  defenseman Sutton Boland (Victor), senior attackman Jack Brennan (Irondequoit) and senior face off midfielder Shawn Fingar (Hilton) were named US Lacrosse All Americans from Monroe County.

The awards, sponsored by US Lacrosse, identify some of the best players from each area around the country. Each of the Head Coaches in the section is allowed to vote on each of the awards.

# 1569  Section 5 Senior All Star Game- 2004

The Expectional Senior "All Star" game, previously scheduled for East Rochester will be held on Tuesday, June 8th, 2004 starting with the Girls Game at 5:00pm followed by the Boys Game at 7:00pm at McQuaid Jesuit Jesuit High School. Coaches from all three leagues have selected the following seniors representing each of the Section Five teams. Teams will be formed at the site. The County coaches recently announced the list of all stars for 2004. Penfield defenseman, Dan Clay and Pittsford midfielder, R.J. Lamontagne were named to the All America team. Rush-Henrietta senior midfielder, Joe Malach was name Academic All American.

# 1550  Thursday: Two Left Undefeated

Canandaigua and Penfield remained undefeated in Section Five and are among only seven teams statewide to have perfect records. Canandaigua beat Victor 11-3 and Penfield broke a 6-6 half-time tie with five third quarter goals to beat Webster Schroeder, 13-7.

# 1548  Thursday: Brighton and Fairport Pull Upsets

Brighton, seeded number 4th in Class B beat the top seed, Honeoye Falls, 15-11 in the semi finals, and Fairport (#5) beat Pittsford (#4), 11-6 in the Class A quarter finals and the rest of the seeds won out. Geneva (#3) looked like they would upset Waterloo (#2) as they led 8-1 when the game was halted for lightning with about nine minutes left in the game. That game will be finished on Friday (time and place TBD).

The Monroe County coaches recently announced the list of all stars for 2003. Irondequoit, who won the County title this year, took top honors with seven players including All American midfielder, Mark Johnson. Penfield and Webster Schroeder each received five first team players. Schroeder's attackman. BJ Linder was also named to the All America Team.
